Work Package 3 focuses on developing and implementing a state-of-the-art blockchain-based traceability platform that enables full transparency across the Mediterranean food chain. By combining blockchain technology, IoT sensors, QR codes and smart contracts, the system will allow food chain actors — from farmers to consumers — to track and verify the provenance, quality and sustainability of Mediterranean food products.

The platform implements digital identity wallets for each food product, enabling consumers to scan a QR code and access the complete history of the food product they are consuming — from the field where it was grown to the store shelf.
